UDA Secretary General Sen. Hassan Omar has called out the opposition for politicizing the fuel prices for their selfish gains

Through the G-to-G framework, Kenyans have been cushioned from a spike in fuel prices due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East. Further, the government has availed Ksh. 6.2 billion to stabilize the prices as a way of mitigating further escalation.

Additionally, VAT on Super Petrol, Diesel, and Kerosene has been reduced from 16 percent to 8 percent, bringing down the retail price to Sh 197.60, Sh 196.63, and Sh152.78 respectively.

Sen Hassan termed the opposition leaders as clueless and told off the impeached former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua for his hypocrisy, reminding Kenyans that during his time in office he received the first consignment of the G-to-G fuel on April 12, 2023 at Kipevu Oil Terminal in Mombasa.

“As a party, we remain confident in the stewardship of Hon. Opiyo Wandayi as Cabinet Secretary for Energy and Petroleum and Hon. Lee Kinyanjui, Cabinet Secretary for Trade, Investments and Industry,” asserted Sen. Omar during a press briefing held at the party headquarters.

Present at the press briefing were Brian Higgins Mbugua, UDA Deputy Executive Director, Nathaniel Mong’are, Director of Communication, and Sam Mwangi, Director of Logistics and Events.
