Women and youth are an integral part of UDA, playing an active role in all decision-making processes.
As part of our commitment to empowering youth and women in politics, today launched the Training Manuals for Women and Youth in Leadership.
Speaking at the launch, UDA Secretary General Sen. Hassan Omar Hassan urged the women and youth to step forward and claim their rightful place in Kenya’s elective politics.
The manuals will equip them with practical skills in building grassroots campaign structures, developing communication plans, and managing election-day operations, among other areas.
In line with the two-thirds gender principle, we have invested in civic education and deliberate political empowerment to help realise these constitutional requirements through the ballot. In doing so, we are working to close the gender gap together with the people of Kenya.
Addressing the gathering, UDA Director of Women Affairs, Training and Civic Education Margaret Ndanyi commended The Oslo Center for its support in preparing the documents.
Director of Programmes and Partnerships Daniel Kiptoo lauded the youth and women for this significant milestone in developing the guiding documents.
Present were Narok Woman Representative Hon. Rebecca Tonkei; Principal Secretary for Culture, the Arts and Heritage Ummi Bashir; and Party Directors Nathaniel Mong’are (Communication), Omulo Junior (Devolution), Sam Mwangi (Events Planning and Logistics), and Grace Gicovi (Membership), NEC Members: Hassan Duale, Diana Katile, and Cecilia Wairimu.
