The National Steering Committee (NSC) met to operationalize the National Executive Committee’s (NEC) decision to conduct repeat grassroots elections in specific electoral zones.
This move follows rulings from the Elections and Nomination Disputes Resolution Committee (ENDRC) regarding contested results, alongside the National Elections Board’s (NEB) decision to competitively fill vacant positions within the Polling Center structure.
Ward Congress Elections will follow the Polling Center Elections in 42 counties, totaling 1,250 Ward Elections. This robust structure is anchored in the party’s constitution to give a direct mandate to party officials.
The meeting was chaired by Party’s 2nd Deputy Party Leader H. E Issa Timamy and attended by among others Party’s National Chairperson, Governor Cecily Mbarire, Secretary General Sen. Hassan Omar, National Treasurer Hon. Japheth Nyakundi, National Assembly Majority Leader Hon. Kimani Ichung’wah and his Senate counterpart Sen. Aaron Cheruiyot, National Elections Board Chairman Eng. Antony Mwaura, among other leaders
