UDA to punish by-election rebels

UDA Party’s top decision-making organ, the National Executive Committee (NEC) has sanctioned disciplinary actions against Party members who campaigned for opponents in the just concluded by-elections.

At a meeting chaired by Deputy President H.E Prof. Kithure Kindiki, in his capacity as the UDA Deputy Party Leader, the decision was arrived that those who contravened the law and the party Constitution by supporting rival candidates be subjected to a disciplinary process.

The meeting at the Party headquarters that also brouggt together members of the National Elections Board (NEB), also resolved to kick off the grassroots polls from January 17, 2026 in areas that the party had not conducted the elections.

The meeting also took stock of the party’s impressive performance at last week’s by-elections, where it bagged 12 of the 21 seats it fielded candidates in.
