Battle lines have been drawn between the United Democratic Alliance and other parties ahead of the November 27 by-elections after several candidates of the ruling party were cleared by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission.
On Wednesday IEBC cleaned UDA’s MP candidate David Ndakwa (Malava Constituency)
and MCA candidates : Elizabeth Situma (Kabuchai/Chwele-Bungoma),
Isabella Leshimpiro (Angata Nyanyokie-Samburu), John Namesek Erot (Lake Zone-Turkana), Cosmas Longor Napeikar (Nanaam-Turkana), Reuben Kigen Tobosei-Tembelio (Uasin Gishu) and Julius Maina Njoka (Kariobangi North-Nairobi).
Others were MCA candidates Philip Kipkosgei Kipruto (Metkei-Elgeyo Marakwet), Diriye Ibrahim Maalim (Fafi-Garissa), Amos Mpusia (Purko-Kajiado), James Shiraku (Kisa East-Kakamega), Misi Mutua (Mumbuni North-Machakos), Vincent Kiplimo Ruto (Chemundu/Kapng”etuny-Nandi), Dennis Kebaso Nyaribo (Nyansongo-Nyamira), Thomas Onchaba Nyandiekie (Nyamaiya-Nyamira) and Francis Amenya Ndubi (Ekerenyo-Nyamira)
Baringo Senate candidate Kiprono Cherubet, Mbeere North and Banissa MP candidates Leonard Njeru and Ahmed Maalim Hassan Alio as well as MCA flagbearers Robert Kudate (Narok North Ward) and
Sophia Hamadawa Maro (Chewani ward- Tana River) were cleared today.
UDA honoured a Broad-based government gentleman’s agreement to leave Kasipul Kabondo, Ugunja and Magarini MP contests to ODM, initially held by the Raila Odinga’s Orange party.
