The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Party has issued party tickets to 21 candidates to contest in the November 27 by-elections.
Deputy President Professor Kithure Kindiki who is also the Deputy Party Leader on Friday morning presented at the party headquarters, Hustler Plaza, nomination certificates to 17 MCA, one senate and three MP candidates respectively.
In the spirit of the broad-based government, UDA agreed to have ODM field candidates in Kasipul Kabondo, Ugunja and Magarini constituencies that were initially held by the Orange Party.
Leopard Njeru, David Ndakwa, Ahmed Maalim Hassan Alio will be the flag bearers for Mbeere North, Malava and Banissa constituencies while Kiprono Cherubet will be Baringo Senator candidate at the mini-polls.
Ward MCA candidates awarded certificates were: Elizabeth Murunga Situma (Kabuchai/Chwele-Bungoma), Philip Kipkosgei Kipruto (Metkei-Elgeyo Marakwet), Diriye Ibrahim Maalim (Fafi-Garissa), Amos Mpusia (Purko-Kajiado), James Shiraku (Kisa East-Kakamega), Misi Mutua (Mumbuni North-Machakos), Vincent Kiplimo Ruto (Chemundu/Kapng”etuny-Nandi), Robert Nyankie ole Kudate (Narok Town-Narok), Dennis Kebaso Nyaribo (Nyansongo-Nyamira), Thomas Onchaba Nyandiekie (Nyamaiya-Nyamira) and Francis Amenya Ndubi (Ekerenyo-Nyamira)
Others were: Isabella Leshimpiro (Angata Nyanyokie-Samburu), Sophia Hamadawa Maro (Chewani-Tana River), John Namesek Erot (Lake Zone-Turkana), Cosmas Longor Napeikar (Nanaam-Turkana), Reuben Kigen Tobosei-Tembelio (Uasin Gishu) and Julius Maina Njoka (Kariobangi North-Nairobi).
UDA chair Governor Cecily Mbarire, Secretary General Sen Hassan Omar, National Treasurer Japheth Nyakundi, Deputy Secretary Omboko Milemba, Executive Director Nicodemus Bore, Deputy Executive Director Higgins Mbugua, National Elections Board Members led by Chair Eng Anthony Mwaura and members of the secretariat witnessed the presentation.
Also present were Senate Majority Leader Aaron Cheruiyot and North Mugirango MP Joash Nyamoko.
