President William Ruto will leave office in 2032 upon completing his two terms, United Democratic Alliance leaders drawn from across Nairobi County have declared.
Led by UDA nominated MCA Cecilia Wairimu and Abdallah Karenju, the grassroots leaders from across the city County told former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua off saying he was dividing Kenyans on tribal lines.
“We will campaign vigorously for President William Ruto’s re-election in 2027 because of his sterling performance. The affordable housing, slum upgrading projects and many others are a great achievement in three years. He deserves a second term, and no-one should be allowed to distract him,” said Karenju.
Hon Wairumu told Gachagua off over the divisive politics, even as other leaders warned over the ex-DP recent statement about a possible repeat of the 2007/8 post election violence should 2027 elections be mishandled by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).
Nancy Njeri from Embakasi East who was a victim of the 2007/8 PEV said any leader who advocates a repeat of such a situation should be called out.
” Those of us who had first hand experience of the violence meted on women and children cannot imagine a repeat of the same. It is only someone who experienced the same from the media that can be so weird. Such leaders should be shunned,” she said.
Zahara Mohammed hailed President Ruto’s program of women empowerment saying many who have benefitted were a happier lot.
Among other leaders who spoke at Safari Bolling Grill were: Dancun Ochanda, Teresia Mwangi, James Gichari, Winnie Atieno, Teresia Mwangi, Nancy Ndhenge, Grace Wachuka, Nancy Njeru, Regina Muteti, Mary Njuguna, Donald Gitau.
